Animals can see in various perspective manner like human beings. The eye is one of the sense organs in living beings, it is the collection of cells. Generally, eyes detect the light and process that information into the signals to the nervous system and act based upon them. 

If you want to see anything, eyes should be required and without light, we cannot see the exact things. It requires some lumen of light.

How scientist found and researched that how animals can see?

There are lot of techniques are found in this scientific world regarding to the eye vision of animals. The techniques and tools used by them which comes under the category of anatomy.

In anatomy, scientist do a research by separating each and every part of the body, so by taking animals eyes and doing lot of researches through microscope too, and checking the vision of eyes using retina, cones, rods for color vision for day and night vision visibility. Based on the research they will came to find differences between human eyes and animals eyes.

Importance of Eye

The most important organ in our eyes, because if other organs like tongue which stopped tasting sense, ear stopped to hearing sense means you will not face any lot of issues. But Eye is very important in order to see everything and also we can prevent ourselves from unwanted issues or dangers.

Generally, human beings require eyes because they want to be free from any dangers, and free from fake people, and also they can walk without any guidance.

If animals eyes are more crucial they will be free from hunters and other dangers like any other animal attack.

Requirements of Eyes

The most important requirement of Eyes is two, such as:

  1. Photoreceptors
  2. Nervous System

These two most important part that helps the animals can see through.

Photoreceptors

Photoreceptors are cells that react to light by sensing and then sending the electrical signals to the next part. Animals can see using this photoreceptors are important part.

Nervous System

It is made of special cells that can detect important signals such as colors, brightness, and darkness, and other visual information

Other Important Parts of Eyes

Lenses

The Eye patches and the image-forming eyes are the most important categories that are found in our lenses. Generally, the animals with eyepatches have a flat cluster of few photoreceptors. It is different from the small cup-like appearance where the light enters into the eyes through this part. To see a distant object the animal’s required lenses are transparent and crystal-like structure.

The image-forming eyes can be seen in some birds and aquatics such as parrots, Jellyfish,  octopuses, carbs, etc. Mostly, the eyes are convex-type lenses.

Retina

After the light enters into the lenses, and the focused light reaches the retina, which is the special layer of photoreceptors located at the back of image-forming eyes. Some animals have stronger lenses or more sensitive retinas than others.

Pupils

Animals also can change how much light receives from their eyes with different variations like Pupil. The pupil is present with inside the center of a part of the iris, this pupil will decrease or enlarge as in keeping with the depth of light. During excessive depth, light passes via the pupil its pupil length will decrease, and at low-intensity size will increase.

Cornea

Lights first enter via this part only. It is the front part of the eye that is convex in form and bulges outwards.

Eye’s Sensitivity

Eye’s are more sensitive to light that they get beaten in daytime and cones which choose up finer information and color. During low light situations, the eyes visually turn out to be huge with a tapetum. It is a layer of reflective tissue is found in the eye parts which is used the light to bounce back twice to the retina.

Human beings are able to see the light of a wavelength from 380 nm (nanometer) and visibility is up to 750 nanometers. This type of wavelength is called as Visible spectrum of visible light. Animals are also able to see clearly visible light, but most animals are able to see the range of infrared and ultraviolet light.

The eye of snakes to be “Dichromatic” which means in daytime the eye of snakes has two primary colors will be visible such as Blue and Green. And also they are very sensitive to UV light conditions.

LION:

TIGER:

Using ‘tapetum lucidum’ the tiger of the eye can able to glow effectively during night time. And the vision performance of Tiger eyes are 6 times more effective than human eyes especially during night hours.

MONKEY:

One of the University in Washington said that the Monkey has more colorful vision. As we know that humans are from Monkeys only, But there is little color differences in eyes, while human eyes knows three primary colors and Monkey has two common primary colors such as Blue and yellow colors.

BIRDS:

They are very free and move from one place to another place, so they can able to see variety of colors in their life time. And the eyes of the birds can able to differentiate colors in their vision using rods and cones. And coming to visionaries Birds has very effective and sharpness in visionary when compared to humans begins.

Animals can see through various methods by comparing to human beings, dogs are slightly different in visionary.

Dogs can able to see one tenth of colors that are found in Animals, so they are very less chances in viewing and differentiating various colors.

In 1994, a zoologist from Swedish, Dan-E Nilson, and S.Pelger proposed a sequence of events where a camera-type eye evolved from a light-sensitive patch of photoreceptors. These two scientists have done several experiments that the eyes with the sharp resolution are able to survive and reproduce. First, the flat patch of light-sensitive cells develops into a depression then a cup with several stages that they found many different changes in the eyes. This present eye’s evolution has dated back from 3 lakh years.
